A LOVE I FORGOT
Note to self about TIME…
Is all memory in the mind happening now
only at this moment, existing, that we can only recall it in complete totality
in awareness we call today.
And is no past
And is no future
That it is almost possible to ignore a whole universe balancing above the clouds
(and who made it)
For dealing with just the part the eye can see at ground level.
That it is bombarding me right now - this barrage of unknown micro particles
And protons and neutrinos and the dark matter.
The fact that I can vanish in a miniature black hole and never be heard from again
Is disturbing to someone like me.
That it seems like it is all I can do to stand up still
On a round earth moving at a million miles per hour
Then of course now off I go pondering the
Purported possible purposes of purplish petunia petals
Which perplexed me for years frankly but had slipped my mind
And that gives me pause, then a reason
To go back and rummage through the stuff drawer of things I don’t remember
And come across a love I forgot. From a yesterday that no longer exists but just won’t go away
The onslaught of peripheral thoughts coming out of nowhere creates a moment of pause
Texting while daydreaming while sleeping behind the wheel
I always seem to stray just far enough to loose my way
and am dangerously strolling down memory lane where you never know who you‘ll meet..
Then wonder if this happens to you also,
Or am I just different
Note to self about REALITY: and in the day before yesterday
My star came to me and unfolded my imagination
Like a gallery of changeling paintings
In the capital of an undiscovered country where I am also King
And my entire universe is all man-made up in my mind happening now
